The first-leg of this UEFA Europa League third qualifying round tie saw Ferencvaros edge past Gornik Zabrze by a goal to nil at the Groupama Arena in Budapest. Romanian midfielder Marius Corbu scored the only goal of the game mid-way through the second half.
Gornik Zabrze were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round last month, losing 2-1 on aggregate to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. Ferencvaros, on the other hand, having missed out on the Hungarian title last season, have overcome Vojvodina and then FC Twente to reach this stage of the UEFA Europa League.
The first-leg was low-scoring but the second-leg may be different here with Ferencvaros set up to counter-attack well and the hosts needing to take the game to the Hungarians.
