In the first-leg of this UEFA Europa League third qualifying round tie in Switzerland, Thun eased to a comfortable 3-0 victory. Jan Bamert, Brighton Labeau and Fabio Saiz scored the goals for the Swiss outfit last week.
Thun, surprise Swiss Super League winners last year before losing manager Mauro Lustrinelli to Union Berlin, were beaten by Dinamo Zagreb after extra-time in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League last month.
Vikingur have enjoyed some good results at home in Europe in recent times, including a victory against Hapoel Be'er Sheva a few weeks ago, and so, while them going through is extremely unlikely, they may salvage some pride and bloody the nose of Thun here.
