Club America, who sit at the top-of-the-table in the 2026-27 Liga MX Apertura campaign, come into this one on the back of back-to-back 3-1 victories against the Portland Timbers and then San Diego in the CONCACAF Leagues Cup.
Austin have struggled throughout the 2026 Western Conference in Major League Soccer. The Texans have also started this competition with successive wins, against Tijuana and then Puebla without conceding.
Austin will take immense confidence from those matches but there is a gulf between Tijuana and Puebla up to America, and the Mexicans remain favourites here.
