The Netherlands have been very good for a while and yet this autumn has seen a dip in their performance level as they now take on Finland at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – FOX Sports

How to watch online: UK – Cannot be streamed / US – Disney+

Key stats

  • The Netherlands have won 12 of the previous 15 international matches between these teams (D2 L1). Finland’s only success was all the way back in 1950 when they won 4-1 in a friendly in Helsinki.
  • The Netherlands are unbeaten in their last 14 World Cup qualifying matches (W11 D3).
  • The Netherlands have lost only one of their last 30 World Cup qualifying matches at home (W27 D2).
  • Memphis Depay has scored 18 goals in his last 13 appearances in World Cup qualifying.

Netherlands vs Finland prediction

Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands have been very good in recent years and their squad is now approaching the star studded tag, but the Oranje were underwhelming last month and their performance in a 4-0 defeat of Malta the other day was again fairly unconvincing and lacklustre.

They now face a Finland side that head to Amsterdam on the back of coming from behind to defeat Lithuania by two goals to one at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki. The Fins have entered into a new era in this international cycle and it is a transitional time as they try to become more entertaining to watch.

That could leave them loose at the back for an excellent Dutch side to surely play through, but it may not be as dominant as one may expect on paper.

Netherlands vs Finland tip: Netherlands to win & under 4.5 goals
