Jeremy Stephens vs Mason Jones prediction

It is almost four years since we have seen Jeremy Stephens (29-21 with one no contest) in the UFC and after three fights in the PFL in 2022, this is his first fight since then. He has been handed the chance to return to the UFC for his hometown card and it would be no surprise if he lays down his gloves after this one.

Stephens has only managed to win one of nine fights since February 2018 and that came against Myles Price in the PFL in June 2022. His career has petered out as he has suffered numerous losses and it will be interesting to see what kind of condition he comes in for this one.

He comes up against Wales’ Mason Jones (15-2 with one no contest) as he returns to the UFC for a second spell. He won one fight, lost two and had a no contest in a four-fight spell back in 2021-22 but has won four in a row since then as he returned to Cage Warriors.

The Welshman’s only win in the UFC came against David Onama which looks better now given how Onama has developed and he will be confident with three knockouts in his last four wins.

It is hard to make a case for Stephens coming into this one and Jones simply has to be favoured. Jones should have far too much energy and while Stephens could potentially make the final bell, we think he gets stopped.

Prediction: Mason Jones to win by KO/TKO
