Cameron Smotherman vs Serhiy Sidey prediction
Cameron Smotherman (12-4) hit the ground running on his UFC debut last time out as he beat Jake Hadley at UFC Fight Night 245 in October. That was his fourth successive victory and he continued his fine form from Fury FC and carried it into the Octagon.
His performances have earned him another decent fight on a main card as he now meets Serhiy Sidey in Des Moines on Saturday night.
Sidey (11-2) got his first win in the Octagon under his belt last time out as he picked up a split-decision victory over Garrett Armfield at UFC Fight Night 246 in November. That came after a defeat on his UFC debut against Ramon Taveras which brought an end to a six-fight winning streak prior to that.
Both fighters have built their resumes outside of the UFC and remains somewhat unproven in the Octagon. The duo possess some knockout power but we do not see that translating into the UFC. We have a very marginal preference for Smotherman but our play is on this fight going the distance.
Prediction: Fight to go the distance
