Cory Sandhagen vs Deiveson Figueiredo prediction
Cory Sandhagen (17-5) is coming off a defeat last time out as he saw unanimous decision go against him in a title eliminator bout with Umar Nurmagomedov. That loss in August last year brought an end to his three-fight winning streak but he will know that nothing less than a win here will suffice if he is to remain within touching distance of a title shot.
The tough fights keep on coming as the UFC matchmakers have paired him off against the highly dangerous Brazilian Deiveson Figueiredo.
Figueiredo (24-4-1) is also coming off a loss last time out as Petr Yan picked up the unanimous decision against him last November. Similar to Sandhagen, that defeat brought an end to his three-fight winning streak as he successfully charged up the bantamweight division following his title run in the flyweight division.
These two men are really well-matched and have been fighting at an elite level for quite some time. We ultimately see this fight going in favour of the naturally bigger fighter in Sandhagen and he is also five years younger than the 39-year-old Figueiredo.
The Brazilian will really have to roll the years back if he is to somehow get a victory here but we do not see it. Expect Sandhagen so when either on points or via KO/TKO.
Prediction: Corey Sandhagen to win by decision or KO/TKO
