Marina Rodriguez vs Gillian Robertson prediction

Marina Rodriguez (17-5-2) is coming off successive split-decision losses so she will be hoping that her luck changes as she looks to halt this poor run. She has lost four of her last five fights amid signs that she may be slowing down a little at the age of 38. She has certainly been competing against high-calibre opponents, but she has shown some signs of father time catching up with her.

She meets Canadian 29-year-old Gillian Robertson who is a fighter on the rise as she has won her last three – all of which came in 2024 - and five of her last six. She has two Performance of the Night awards during that stretch and she is coming off a unanimous decision win over Luana Pinheiro last November.

While Rodriguez has been fighting against the higher-quality opponents, Robertson brings all the momentum into this one. She has an excellent Jiu-Jitsu base and has dangerous submissions with nine of her 15 wins coming that way.

We like Robertson’s chances of getting control of this fight and having the edge in that department. Rodriguez’s knockout power has been waning and we think the younger fighter dominates Octagon control and gets the decision or submission.

Prediction: Gillian Robertson to win by submission or decision
