Tanner Boser: What does "The Bulldozer" have left in the tank?
Making the second appearance of his second stint with the promotion, Tanner Boser (22-11-1) endured a rough return to the UFC last time out, succumbing to a second round KO against Gokhan Saricam. “The Bulldozer” is 5-6 overall with the promotion and has fought some solid levels of competition, even taking Ciryl Gane to a decision back in 2019. However, at the age of 35 with a bevy of rough losses, he looks to have deteriorated as a fighter since his early days with the UFC.
Jhonata Diniz: Can the Brazilian earn his first win of the year?
A sparring partner of Alex Pereira, Jhonata Diniz (9-2) returns for his first bout of 2026 following a stoppage loss to Mario Pinto last time out. The Brazilian is 3-2 in the UFC, with wins over Alvin Hines, Karl Williams, and Austen Lane, coming up short to Marcin Tybura and the aforementioned Pinto. He’s an accomplished striker with a wealth of kickboxing experience, although his only stoppage win in the promotion came over one of the chinniest fighters in recent memory in Lane.
Tanner Boser vs Jhonata Diniz prediction
Despite his striking accolades, Diniz doesn’t look to be much of a threat to ever break into the rankings. His wins have been extremely uninspiring against mid levels of competition, with his sole stoppage in the promotion coming over a fighter who has a reputation for getting brutally KO’d. He’s also been finished pretty decisively any time he’s faced anybody with any real quality.
With that being said, I do think he takes this one. Diniz has the edge in terms of height and reach, and is a much cleaner, more technical striker. I believe Boser could take this one if he fights smart, but it’s much more likely that “The Bulldozer” is going to do what he always does; march forward to stand and bang with the man in front of him.
At this point in proceedings, I think that Diniz has what it takes to win a firefight and put the Canadian away. There’s always a chance that Boser manages to catch him and score the upset, but it’s hard to bet on it considering how past it he looked last time out. The pick is Diniz by TKO.
Prediction: Jhonata Diniz to win by TKO
