Ricky Simon vs Cameron Smotherman prediction
Ricky Simon (21-6) is coming off a much-needed win last time out as he ended a run of three successive losses. He knockout Javid Basharat in February in a Performance of the Night display to get back on track and he will be eager to follow that up here and get some more momentum.
He will have to deal with a late change in opponent after Charles Jourdain was forced off the card through injury. Cameron Smotherman (12-5) is the man to step up at incredibly late notice and he will be hoping to take advantage of this opportunity.
After a four-fight winning streak, Smotherman lost via unanimous decision last time out at the hands of Serhiy Sidey just six weeks ago so he is clearly desperate to get back in the Octagon and get back on track here.
That will be easier said than done against Simon however who is an experienced campaigner and should ultimately have too much all-round quality for him. credit Smotherman for stepping up to save the fight, but we cannot see a good outcome for him here.
Prediction: Ricky Simon to win
