Cody Durden vs Jose Ochoa prediction
Cody Durden (17-7-1) makes his first appearance of 2025 and he will be hoping for an upturn in form after losing three of his last four fights and losing a unanimous decision last time to Joshua Van at UFC 310. The 34-year-old has just fallen short in recent times and that has to be a concern to him especially when coming up against a talented up-and-coming fighter like he does here.
Jose Ochoa (7-1 with one no contest) is a 24-year-old Peruvian who is coming off the first loss of his professional MMA career. The talented youngster earned his spot in the UFC thanks to a string of impressive wins as he stopped all seven of his opponents including six knockouts. Those all came outside the UFC however and Ochoa was devastated after losing on his UFC debut.
It will be interesting to see how he fares here and whether nerves creep in once again. This is a tough assignment for the youngster against such a seasoned veteran and we are somewhat surprised that Ochoa is the favourite with the bookies coming into this one.
Our preference is with Durden who knows he cannot afford to lose again. We expect him to use all his experience to control the bout and frustrate Ochoa to get the win, likely on points.
Prediction: Cody Durden to win by decision
