Brandon Royval vs Joshua Van prediction
Brandon Royval (17-7) is coming back-to-back wins against Tatsuro Taira and Brandon Moreno to consolidate his position as unquestionably the second best in the world behind Alexandre Pantoja. Only Pantoja has beaten him in the last seven fights and Royval is determined to keep winning in the hope of another title shot in the near future.
The UFC have lined up against the talented Joshua Van (14-2) who at 23-years-old is one of the up-and-coming stars in the division. With a sole loss to Charles Johnson during his eight fights in the UFC so far, Van has excellent potential and still has plenty of room for improvement.
This fight could well be a little too early for him but fair play to the UFC for giving him this fight and fair play to him for taking it.
Van could well have the edge in speed here but we still think Royval is a level above technically. The bookies have Van as the slight favourite but we are not convinced that is the right call.
Royval has beaten everybody not named Pantoja and we expect him to show his class and experience and get the win here.
Prediction: Brandon Royval to win
