Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France prediction
Alexandre Pantoja (29-5) puts his belt on the line for a fourth time and the Brazilian will be looking to extend his winning streak to eight fights. Pantoja is getting better with age and he has beaten all the men around him in the top five of the rankings.
His latest victim was newcomer Kai Asakura who was handed the shot after joining the organisation but Pantoja outclassed him.
The next man up to challenge him is New Zealander Kai Kara-France (25-11 with one no contest) who comes off an impressive TKO win over Steve Erceg. He earned a Performance of the Night bonus for that win and has picked up five bonuses in his last seven fights.
The manner of his performances is arguably what has given him a shot here as prior to the Erceg win, he lost his two previous fights. Brandon Moreno TKO’d him at UFC 277 and then he lost a split decision to Amir Albazi in June 2023.
It will be interesting to see if he can step up here but this is a tough assignment. Pantoja is a class above everybody in the division right now and we fully expect him to grind it out and eventually wear Kara-France down to get the stoppage.
Prediction: Alexandre Pantoja to win by KO/TKO or submission
