Slovakia vs Slovenia Prediction

Slovakia performed well at UEFA EURO 2024 and were unfortunate to go out at the Round of 16 stage, losing to England after extra-time; and the same can be said for Slovenia, who were eventually eliminated by Portugal via a dramatic penalty shootout.

Slovakia, under the management of Maurizio Sarri’s former assistant coach Francesco Calzona, play an enterprising style of football but were very unfortunate to be drawn into a League C group alongside a Sweden squad boasting major talent. The Slovakians, though, remained strong albeit no real match for the impressive Swedes.

They face a Slovenian side that play a much more reactive and controlled, defensive style of football, who managed two victories with two draws and two defeats in their six matches. The visitors most recently denied Austria automatic promotion to League A with a 1-1 draw with Ralf Rangnick’s side at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna.

Slovakia will seek to dominate the ball and get themselves on the front foot but Slovenia will fancy their chances on the counter-attack, especially with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

Slovakia vs Slovenia Tip: Slovakia to win & both teams to score
