Carlos Eduardo gave Mirassol a 15th minute lead in the first-leg of this CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores round of 16 tie at Estadio Jose Maria de Campos Maia last week before Michael Estrada restored parity for LDU Quito mid-way through the second half.
Since then, LDU Quito got themselves back on the winning track domestically with a slender 1-0 win away from home against Aucas, while Mirassol succumbed to a 5-1 hammering at home to Flamengo as they battle relegation from the Brazilian Serie A.
Mirassol may have to shift their focus to domestic matters now and LDU Quito, with home advantage, have to be sided with in this second-leg.
