Robin Montgomery vs Jeline Vandromme prediction

Robin Montgomery advanced to the next round of the Chennai Open after a three set win over fourth seed Panna Udvardy. The American recovered from a disappointing second set to win 6-4 1-6 6-1, striking 37 aces and seven aces. Her standout achievement of 2026 was capturing her maiden WTA singles title at the Libema Open during the grass court season. Her powerful left-handed serve remains a significant weapon, although she won just 36% of second serve points against Udvardy.

She now faces Jeline Vandromme for a place in the quarter-finals. Vandromme defeated Kyoka Okamura in her opening match. The 18-year-old edged ahead after the first set and then raced clear to win 7-5 6-1. She has won two lower-level titles this season. 

Montgomery leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a straight sets win in US Open qualifying earlier this year. The result gives the American a psychological advantage, but Vandromme will look to attack her opponent’s second serve at any given opportunity. I still expect Montgomery’s power to have too much in the end.
