Nate Landwehr vs Morgan Charriere prediction
Nate Landwehr (18-6) comes into this Saturday’s card in Nashville following a loss last time as he suffered a TKO against Choi Doo-ho at UFC 310 in December. That was just his second loss in his last six fights as otherwise he has been making good inroads in the featherweight division and has racked up four Fight or Performance of the Night awards during this spell.
He comes up against Frenchman Morgan Charriere (20-11-1) and he too is coming off a loss last time out. That came at UFC Fight Night 255 in March just under four months ago against Nathaniel Wood as he lost a unanimous decision.
That takes him to 2-2 since joining the UFC and he will be keen to get a win here to go back above .500. Charriere’s two losses have both come by decision and that has been how 10 of his 11 professional MMA losses have come.
Landwehr will fancy his chances of controlling this fight and Octagon control will be the key for him. Both have good knockout power and will be targeting the stoppage but we can see Landwehr going back to basics potentially here to frustrate the Frenchman.
Charriere is the bookies favourite but we can see Landwehr frustrating him here and grinding out a decision which could very well be a close call.
