Monaco Preview: Foot on the Monegasque

Under the management of former Borussia Monchengladbach boss Adi Hutter, Monaco have been one of the more entertaining teams to watch in France and they remain a strong side but have dipped since a very bright start to the campaign a few months ago.

The form of Mika Biereth, who joined from Sturm Graz during the winter transfer window, has helped them maintain some good results as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top three.

Nice Preview: Pretty and Nice

They are sitting tucked inside the top three of Ligue 1 ahead of Nice on goals scored, having the same points and same goal difference but Monaco have notched one more. The southerners did take just a point from their two matches before the March international break.

The visitors most recently shared a frustrating 1-1 draw with Auxerre at the Allianz Riviera a couple of weeks ago, conceding in second-half stoppage-time after Melvin Bard had been sent off in the 87th minute.

Monaco Team News: Several doubts

Monaco are dealing with several doubts for this weekend’s visit of Nice as defender Jordan Teze is likely to remain sidelined alongside attackers such as Russia international Aleksandr Golovin and United States international Folarin Balogun.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kohn; Vanderson, Singo, Kehrer, Caio Henrique; Zakaria, Al Musrati; Akliouche, Minamino, Ben Seghir; Biereth

Unavailable:

Questionable: Teze (Injured), Ouattara (Injured), Magassa (Injured), Golovin (Injured), Balogun (Injured)

Nice Team News: Bard suspended

Nice defender Malvin Bard is missing through suspension for this weekend due to his aforementioned red card the other day. They also have a couple of injury concerns such as Tanguy Ndombele and Terem Moffi.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Bulka; Moise Bombito, Ndayishimiye, Dante; Louchet, Boudaoui, Santamaria, Abdi; Guessand, Laborde, Diop

Unavailable: Bard (Suspended), Ndombele (Injured), Moffi (Injured)

Questionable: Sanson (Injured)

Monaco vs Nice Prediction

Monaco have struggled to be consistent of late but they have remained thrilling to watch with the aforementioned Biereth supported by some impressive attacking players like Eliesse Ben Seghir, Maghnes Akliouche and Takumi Minamino. Nice are not an overly attacking side but they have found a cohesion with patterns of play that make them a consistent threat. These are evenly matched sides and both teams scoring seems a good bet for a clash that should be quite entertaining to watch.

Monaco vs Nice Tip: Both teams to score
