Kurtis Campbell: Can "The Pink Panther" prove he belongs in the UFC?

Debuting as an undefeated UK prospect after earning a contract on the Contender Series, Kurtis Campbell (8-1) endured a debut to forget at UFC London. "The Pink Panther" coughed up his undefeated record to Danny Silva on home turf, succumbing to a second round TKO loss in a result that dampened a lot of his hype. However, that's the same Danny Silva who took Kevin Vallejos to a decision; Campbell is still really good and at 24, the Scouser has plenty of time to evolve. While his striking style leaves openings that can be exploited, he's a superb grappler with crushing top control and spiteful GNP.

Trevor Peek: The fan-favorite brawler makes his first walk since 2024

Returning for his first fight since 2024, Trevor Peek (9-3, 1 NC) is 2-3 with the UFC since graduating via the Contender Series. While he has eight wins by KO, there’s no getting away from it; the American fights like a menacing cartoon character, from his complete lack of head movement to his standing hammerfists in lieu of actual punches. His schoolyard bully style and iron chin made him a firm fan favorite, but his losing record highlights the fact that they have not produced the results he’s needed. Peek has been out of action for almost two years, with a string of nasty injuries keeping him sidelined.

Kurtis Campbell vs Trevor Peek prediction

Campbell might have had a nightmare debut last time out, but this looks like the perfect fight for "The Pink Panther" to rebound.

Peek has always been an absolute dog in the cage, but he’s been out of action for almost two years. He’s also had some really bad injuries to deal with along the way and there’s no way of telling how he’s going to look until he steps in the cage.

I see Campbell having success with his kicks, bouncing in and out of range as he chops the calf, teeps the body, and flicks shots upstairs. Peek is going to compensate by getting overly aggressive and that’s going to allow “The Pink Panther” to set up a takedown and work for a submission or a GNP TKO from there.

Peek is such a grit merchant that I could actually see him winning this down the stretch if the Scouser can’t get him out of there early; Campbell demonstrated an alarming propensity for fighting with his hands extremely low against Danny Silva and could conceivably get bombed again. Unfortunately for the American, I don't see that happening.

The pick is Campbell by finish on the ground somewhere in the first two rounds.

Prediction: Kurtis Campbell to win by stoppage
