In what was his first appearance in Basel for 15 years, Novak Djokovic is enjoying his time in Switzerland, but he had to battle incredibly hard to overcome Frenchman Ugo Humbert 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Djokovic played well against Humbert but converted only two of the eight break points he generated, and he will have to be more clinical than that if he is to go far this week.

He now takes on Jan-Lennard Struff, who beat compatriot Yannick Hanfmann in the first round. It was a pretty efficient display from Struff, who won an outstanding 90% of points on his first serve and took both of the break points he generated against his fellow German.

He will have to raise his game even further against Djokovic, however. The duo have met on eight previous occasions, and Djokovic has won all eight, including the most recent at the US Open last year. Of the 21 sets they have played, Struff has won just one, with Djokovic taking the other 20.

Despite his advancing years, Djokovic is still good enough to pick up a straight-sets win here.
