Claire Liu vs Katerina Siniakova prediction

Claire Liu notched up a win in the first-round of the Guangzhou Open after coming from a set down to beat Antonia Ruzic. Liu required two hours and 51 minutes to win 4-6 7-6 (5) 6-4 against the Croatian. She is aiming to reach a first tour-level quarter-final of the season. Liu progressed to the semi-finals in Guangzhou last year.

She faces Katerina Siniakova next. The Czech extended her winning run to six matches after coming from a set down to beat Lanlana Tararudee. Siniakova held off a late fightback in the decider, winning 2-6 6-1 6-4. She had just won her first singles title in three years at the Japan Women’s Open only a few days earlier.

Liu leads the head-to-head 3-0, but they have not faced each other since the Miami Open back in 2023. The in-form Siniakova has to be viewed as the favourite to come out on top.
