Lilli Tagger vs Magda Linette prediction

Lilli Tagger began her Guangzhou Open campaign with a crushing victory over seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams. The teenager outclassed the 46-year-old, winning 6-2 6-2 after just an hour and 12 minutes. Tagger won all 25 of her first serve points and did not concede a break point opportunity across the match. She now faces Magda Linette for a place in the quarter-finals.

Linette defeated Anastasia Zakharova in straight sets. It was a strong serving display from the Pole, firing 18 aces on her way to winning 7-6 (6) 6-4. Her best result of the season remains a run to the semi-finals of the Libema Open during the grass court season.

Tagger will look to end her breakthrough season on a high and her performance against Williams in the first-round was very solid. If she can produce another strong display against Linette, she will have a fine chance of advancing through to the last eight.
