Learner Tien vs Alex de Minaur prediction

Learner Tien returned to winning ways in Vienna after comfortably getting past Luca Van Assche in straight sets. The American was always in control, winning 6-3 6-1 after 87 minutes on court. Tien saved all five break point opportunities across the match. He is looked to add a second title to his name this season, after success in Geneva earlier in the year.

His next opponent is Alex de Minaur. The 27-year-old looked to be heading out as he went a set and a break down against Tomas Machac, but he fought back to win 1-6 6-4 6-3. De Minuar advanced to the final of the China Open earlier this month, along with a quarter-final appearance in Shanghai.

Both players are excellent movers who thrive in extended baseline exchanges, and there is very little to separate the pair overall. Tien’s impressive opening round performances suggests he can trouble the more experienced De Minaur throughout.
