Hubert Hurkacz vs Zizou Bergs prediction

Hubert Hurkacz returns to Basel, where he finished runner-up in 2023, and the powerful Pole will be hoping for another good week in Switzerland.

Hurkacz has enjoyed a strong month or so on the Asian leg of the ATP Tour, reaching the final in Chengdu and the semi-finals of the China Open, as well as the round of 16 in Shanghai.

He takes on Zizou Bergs, who has been in reasonable form himself in recent weeks, having pulled off an outstanding win over Carlos Alcaraz in Shanghai a couple of weeks ago. Hurkacz won the pair’s only previous meeting, in the first round of the Australian Open in January.

Ultimately, Hurkacz has really strong fundamentals to his game, and that might be the difference in a match like this.

Given his previous track record in Basel, unless Bergs is at his best, Hurkacz should have the fundamentals to beat him here.
