Lorenzo Musetti vs Taylor Fritz prediction

Lorenzo Musetti advanced to his first final since January after fighting back to beat compatriot Flavio Cobolli at the Lyon Open. Musetti overcame Luca Van Assche in a quarter-final match which lasted over three and a half hours, and he struggled at the start of this one as Cobolli took the lead after the first set. Nevertheless, Musetti levelled in the second and went on to save four match points at 5-4 down in the decider. The two-time Grand Slam semi-finalist won 4-6 6-2 7-5 after two hours and 32 minutes.

He faces Taylor Fritz. The American defeated Tommy Paul in the other semi-final. Fritz began strongly and saved three set points in the second, winning 6-3 7-5. He has now reached five finals this season in total.

Musetti leads the head-to-head 4-3 and defeated Fritz in their last match at the Australian Open earlier this year. The Italian has shown plenty of resilience during this run to the final, but Fritz will be the fresher of the two and should be able to dominate his service games.
