Daniil Medvedev vs Nikoloz Basilashvili prediction

Daniil Medvedev advanced to his second straight Almaty Open final after Alexander Bublik retired from their semi-final match. Medvedev had taken the first set 6-3 when Bublik decided he could not continue. The 30-year-old also defeated Sho Shimabukuro and Terence Atmane earlier this week. Medvedev is now just one match away from a fourth title of the season, having already won in Brisbane, Dubai and Chengdu this year. 

He will face Nikoloz Basilashvili. The Georgian continued his excellent run of form with a three set victory over former world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas. Basilashvili won 92% of his points on first serve and was not broken across the match, winning 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-3. He has won 13 of his last 15 matches, including qualifiers. This will be Basilashvili’s first tour-level final since February 2022.

Medvedev leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a comfortable win at the Vienna Open four years ago. He will be expected to come through with the victory once again.
