Holger Rune vs Quentin Halys prediction
It has been a slow process for Holger Rune since he returned to action after his long-term injury, and the talented Dane will be desperate to pick up a win after first-round losses in both Tokyo and Shanghai in the last month.
Ranking places will be far from his mind, given how far he has dropped after being out of action for so long, but the Dane will want to start picking up some wins and find some kind of rhythm on the court.
He received a wildcard for the ATP 250 European Open in Brussels last week, but his back seized up and forced him to withdraw, and he returns to action here.
So much depends on what kind of condition Rune finds himself in as he comes up against Quentin Halys. The pair have met on two previous occasions, and Rune won both of those matches, at Wimbledon and Roland Garros, with both going the full five sets, so there has been very little to separate the two players.
Halys is far from a pushover. He has been in reasonable form throughout 2026 and won the ATP 250 event in Kitzbühel, Austria, at the back end of July. Since then he has picked up a number of notable wins without going too deep in tournaments, but he remains highly competitive.
It is very hard to have much confidence in Rune until he returns to something close to his best, and for that reason we favour Halys to get the win.
