Simona Waltert vs Jil Teichmann prediction

Simona Waltert has experienced an inconsistent 2026, although her standout achievement came at the Bastad WTA 125 in July, where she reached the final. The Swiss defeated Kaitlin Quevedo in the semi-finals before a loss to former world number two Paula Badosa. However, Waltert has struggled to reproduce that form on hard courts, with 15 losses from 25 matches on the surface. Her most recent appearance came in Ningbo qualifying, where she lost in three sets to Anhelina Kalinina. 

Jil Teichmann has enjoyed some impressive results in 2026, particularly on clay. Her best result came at Roland Garros, where she reached the fourth-round, defeating Liudmila Samsonova, Magdalena Frech and Karolina Muchova before a straight sets loss to Mirra Andreeva. She also advanced to the Rabat semi-finals but has played relatively little hard court tennis this season.

Teichmann leads the head-to-head 3-1, but they have never met on hard courts. Walter’s greater familiarity with these conditions gives her a slight advantage.
