Taylor Fritz vs Rinky Hijikata prediction

Taylor Fritz enjoyed a strong week in Lyon, making it all the way to the final before losing in straight sets to an inspired Lorenzo Musetti.

Fritz will be eager to end the season on a high, and the 28-year-old American, who turns 29 on Wednesday, will be motivated to go far once again this week.

He takes on Australia’s Rinky Hijikata, whose form has been pretty mediocre of late. The 25-year-old put in some reasonable performances in the first half of the year but has had very little to shout about in the last three months.

The pair have met once before, with Fritz winning in straight sets at Delray Beach back in 2024, and the American should simply have far too much quality here.

Unless any fatigue sets in following his exploits in Lyon, Fritz should have too much for Hijikata and run out a straight-sets winner.
