Daria Snigur vs Anna Bondar prediction

Daria Snigur is the top seed at the Guangzhou Open. Her last event was in Ningbo, where she lost in the first-round to Katarzyna Kawa after only entering the draw as a lucky loser. The beginning of her Asian swing was very strong, as she won three matches in a row to progress to the round-of-16 at the China Open. She was then soundly beaten by Roland Garros champion Mirra Andreeva. The Ukrainian has won two lower-level titles this year, along with a tour-level final in Prague. Snigur has now moved inside the world’s top 40 for the first time in her career.

She plays Anna Bondar. The Hungarian reached the semi-finals of the Korea Open at the end of last month, losing to eventual champion Kimberly Birrell, but her results have dropped off quite considerably since that point. Bondar failed to qualify in Ningbo after a loss in the first stage to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in straight sets.

She does lead this head-to-head 1-0, but that victory occurred six years ago, and I expect Snigur to pick up her first win against Bondar.
