Anna Bondar vs Kaitlin Quevedo prediction

Anna Bondar began her Guangzhou Open campaign with an excellent victory over top seed Daria Snigur. Bondar fired eight aces and won 81% of her points on first serve, winning 6-4 6-2 after one hour and 15 minutes. The Hungarian advanced to the semi-finals of the Korea Open last month, losing to eventual winner Kimberly Birrell. 

She faces Kaitlin Quevedo. The 20-year-old defeated 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin in three sets. Both players exchanged breaks in the decider, but it was Quevedo who came out on top as she won 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-4 after two hours and 41 minutes. She won her first tour-level title at the Sao Paulo Open last month.

Quevedo is an exciting player, but I do think Bondar’s experience and consistency may just give her the edge here. She performed strongly in the previous round and has enough quality in her game to get the job done against the youngster.
