Paula Badosa vs Sinja Kraus prediction

Paula Badosa began her Guangzhou Open campaign with a comfortable victory over Carol Young Suh Lee. The former world number two was broken just once as she wrapped up a 6-1 6-4 victory. Badosa is looking to end a difficult season on a high.  

Her next opponent is Sinja Kraus after the Austrian got past Panna Udvardy in straight sets. Kraus only conceded the two break points, winning 6-4 6-2. Kraus achieved her best ever WTA 1000 result at the China Open a few weeks ago after advancing to the round-of-16. She has won four of her last five matches, including qualifiers.

Badosa leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a victory in Austin earlier this year, but Kraus is in better form this time around. The Spaniard can be inconsistent at times, and I expect her opponent to make this a very competitive encounter, with a place in the quarter-finals on the line.
