Flavio Cobolli vs Matteo Berrettini prediction
Flavio Cobolli defeated Grigor Dimitrov in three sets to reach the next stage at the Vienna Open. Cobolli regrouped after the second set to win 6-4 3-6 6-3 after two hours and 15 minutes. The Italian remains in a strong position to qualify for the World Tour Finals next month. Cobolli is seeking a second title of the campaign, after success at the Mexican Open earlier in the year. He advanced to the semi-finals in Lyon last week, losing to Lorenzo Musetti after squandering four match points.
He faces compatriot Matteo Berrettini next. The 30-year-old began his campaign with an impressive straight sets win over Tomas Martin Etcheverry. Berrettini, whose best result at the event is a run to the semi-finals in 2019, won 6-3 6-4. He is looking to end an inconsistent season on a high.
Berrettini should be able to remain competitive behind his first serve, while Cobolli is likely to benefit from extended rallies. Cobolli is the favourite, but I don’t expect him to run away with the match.
