Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor prediction
Alexander Zverev overcame Martin Landaluce in a five set epic to advance at the Vienna Open. The two-time Grand Slam champion saved four match points and converted his fifth to win 7-5 3-6 7-6 (11) after three hours and five minutes. If Zverev reaches the quarter-finals, he is guaranteed to become the world number one for the first time in his career next week, replacing Jannik Sinner.
He will face Tallon Griekspoor in the round-of-16. Griekspoor extended his unbeaten run to six matches after beating Brandon Nakashima in round one. The Dutchman won the European Open just a few days earlier and backed up that title win with a 6-1 4-6 7-6 (2) victory over Nakashima.
Zverev leads the head-to-head 9-3, but Griekspoor did win their most recent meeting at the Canadian Open earlier this year. He’s enjoying his best run of form in 2026, and I expect Zverev to be tested by the 30-year-old yet again.
