Alex Michelsen has been handed an early opportunity to avenge last week’s loss to Arthur Fils in Brussels, as he meets him for just the second time on the ATP Tour.

Michelsen had to come through an incredibly tough test against Botic van de Zandschulp in the first round, going a set down before rallying to win the second and deciding sets.

He will know he has to raise his game against the talented Fils, who is coming off a tremendous win of his own. Fils overcame compatriot Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 7-6, 7-5 in an incredibly close match in which a solitary break proved the difference.

Fils has been in very good form in recent weeks, both in Asia and since returning to Europe in Brussels and now Basel.

Michelsen poses a completely different threat to Mpetshi Perricard, but Fils is looking sharp right now, and we just about give him the edge in a match that could easily go all three sets.
