Valentin Vacherot vs Rafael Jodar prediction

Monaco’s Valentin Vacherot picked up a straight-sets win in the first round, overcoming Mariano Navone 6-3, 7-6, and he is enjoying a strong end to the season.

He now faces an extremely tough test as he comes up against Spanish prodigy Rafael Jodar.

Jodar looked impressive in victory against Tabilo on Tuesday, although he had to ward off six break points, without being broken once, to claim the straight-sets win. He won all the decisive points, both on his own serve and on return.

Our sense is that he is only going to get stronger as this tournament goes on.

This will be the first time he has played Vacherot, but that is more likely to be a problem for the Monegasque 27-year-old than for Jodar, and we fully expect the Spaniard to cruise through in straight sets once again.
