Arthur Fils vs Alex Michelsen prediction

Arthur Fils will finally begin his European Open campaign at the quarter-final stage. He was handed a bye in the first-round as the top seed and was then given a walkover in the next stage of the tournament after his opponent Jaume Munar withdrew from the tournament. Fils last competed at the Shanghai Masters, losing in the third-round to Botic Van de Zandschulp. He is currently eighth in the Race to Turin and a run to the title in Brussels would further bolster his chances of competing in the year end championships for the first time.

He will play Alex Michelsen. The American brought David Goffin’s career to an end after a straight sets victory. Michelsen broke on three separate occasions and struck eight aces on his way to a 6-3 6-4 victory after one hour and 27 minutes.

Michelsen has the weapons to keep sets close, and he already has two matches under his belt in these conditions compared to Fils. The Frenchman is a firm favourite, but this should be a very competitive quarter-final.
