Raphael Collignon vs Jiri Lehecka prediction
Raphael Collignon recovered from a set and a break down to beat Nishesh Basavareddy and mark his return from injury with a victory. The Belgian, who had not featured since the US Open and had lost his last six matches overall, fought back to win 3-6 6-3 6-4. He advanced to the semi-finals of this event last year.
He now plays second seed Jiri Lehecka, who received a bye in the opening round. Lehecka finished as the runner up in Tokyo at the start of this month, losing to seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz. He was unable to make a deep run in Shanghai, after a defeat in the third-round to Rafael Jodar in three sets.
Lehecka has advanced to the final of this event over the last two years, losing in the final on both occasions to Roberto Bautista Agut and Felix Auger-Aliassime respectively. He leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a straight sets win over Collignon at the US Open last year, and he will be the firm favourite for this one.
