Mariano Navone vs Tallon Griekspoor prediction

Mariano Navone overcame Juan Manuel Cerundolo in straight sets to advance at the European Open. The Argentine edged ahead after winning a lengthy tiebreak in the opener, before controlling the second set to win 7-6 (10) 6-2. Navone won his first tour-level title at the Bucharest Open earlier this season, but he has also become more of a threat away from clay courts. That was highlighted by his first-round victory over 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic at the US Open.

He faces Tallon Griekspoor next. The Dutchman ended a three-match losing run after squeezing past Max Schoenhaus. Griekspoor was unbroken on serve across the whole match and won 89% of his points on first serve, claiming a 7-6 (3) 6-7 (3) 7-5 victory after two hours and 13 minutes. 

If Griekspoor produces a similar serving performance, Navone may be limited in terms of opportunities. Furthermore, Griekspoor’s more powerful game may prove to be the difference here.
