Lanlana Tararudee was too sharp for Kaitlin Quevedo as she raced into the round of 16.

The Thai star bagged a 7-5 6-3 success over the Spaniard to tee up a clash with Ashlyn Krueger.

The American upset sixth seed Janice Tjen 6-4 6-4 and will now meet Tararudee for the second time in two weeks.

Krueger triumphed 2-6 6-1 6-1 in their only previous encounter in Wuhan, but this remains a tough call given how close they are in the rankings. 

It could well go three again with both players impressing on their openers here.
