Clement Chidekh vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction
Clement Chidekh advanced to his first tour-level quarter-final after a straight sets win over Jacob Fearnley. The Frenchman conceded just the one break point, winning 7-6 (4) 6-2 after one hour and 47 minutes. Chidekh has now won four matches in a row, including qualifiers.
He will face Francisco Cerundolo next. The third seed got past Martin Damm in his opening match at the event. Cerundolo saved six out of seven break point opportunities, edging clear in the second set tiebreak to claim a 6-4 7-6 (4) victory after 95 minutes on court. He struck 12 aces and won 88% of his points on first serve. Cerundolo is seeking a third title of the season, following success in Buenos Aires and at Queen’s Club.
Chidekh has momentum on his side after his recent run of results in these indoor conditions, but Cerundolo is the far more established player and will be expected to come through with the win.
