Yunchaokete Bu vs Nishesh Basavareddy Prediction
Chinese 23-year-old Yunchaokete Bu has had a difficult spell in recent weeks as while he has remained active, he has only won match in his last four tournaments. In fairness to Bu, he has had some tough draws against the likes of Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz, but he would have hoped to have a few more wins under his belt coming into Indian Wells.
He takes on talented young American Nishesh Basavareddy who makes his debut at Indian Wells and he has been relatively low key since the Australian Open. He ended last year in fine form and started life as a professional tennis player on the ATP Tour with a strong January.
He has only played one tournament in Mexico since the Australian Open and he came through qualifying but was eliminated by Denis Shapovalov in the first round. He will however be desperate to do well and should be raring to go.
We really like Basavareddy and there is every chance he goes on to have a really bright future. Bu has been the more active of the two so that may benefit him but we think the American will overpower him in his native California.
