Martin Damm vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction

Martin Damm advanced to the next stage of the European Open after an impressive straight sets victory over Yannick Hanfmann. The American only entered the main draw as a lucky loser, but he progressed after winning 7-5 6-3. He was brilliant on serve, firing 11 aces, winning 88% of his first serve points and not conceding a break point opportunity across the entire match.

He will now face Francisco Cerundolo. The Argentine was beaten by Jakub Mensik for the first time in his career at the Shanghai Masters last time out. He did progress to the quarter-finals of the China Open. Cerundolo has won two titles this year, in Buenos Aires and at Queen’s Club, but his recent results have been far more mixed.

Cerundolo will look to dictate with his powerful forehand, but Damm should be able to remain competitive with that first serve of his. This is not an easy opening match for the 28-year-old.

Martin Damm vs Francisco Cerundolo tip: Both players to win a set
