Brando Pericic: “The Balkan Bear” looking to maul on home soil

Brando Pericic (4-1) is an exciting Australian prospect out of City Kickboxing, the home of Israel Adesanya, Kai Kara-France and Carlos Ulberg. At 6’5” and with a powerful, athletic frame, Pericic brings the type of physicality that could translate well to the UFC’s heavyweight division.

All of the 31-year-old's wins have come inside the first round — three by KO/TKO and one via submission. While still green in his MMA career, he’s shown a preference for closing distance, bullying opponents in the clinch and landing big shots. His only loss came via second-round submission, suggesting his ground game still needs work, but he remains a raw, dangerous talent with potential.

Elisha Ellison: “Snack Panther” hunting another quick finish

Elisha Ellison (5-1) also brings a 100% finish rate to his UFC debut, with all five of his wins coming in the first round (four knockouts and one submission). The 6’0” American is fairly athletic for the division and has clear power in his hands, though the 28-year-old too lost via submission in his only defeat.

With both fighters carrying similar records and aggressive styles, expect this one to start fast.

Brando Pericic vs Elisha Ellison prediction

There isn’t a huge amount of tape on either man, but based on what we’ve seen, Pericic appears to have the higher ceiling. He’s got the home advantage, a clear height edge, and trains with elite teammates under legendary head coach Eugene Bareman.

Ellison does possess the skills to get the finish, but Pericic’s physical tools and training environment give him the overall edge in a bout between two men who are very young in their MMA career.

Prediction: Brando Pericic to win by KO/TKO in round 1
