The Solomon Islands come into this one on the back of a surprise and impressive victory as they defeated New Caledonia by two goals to nil the other day. That came after they fought from 3-1 down late on to share a 3-3 draw against Fiji.
Vanuatu started their MSG Prime Minister’s Cup with a 2-1 loss to Papua New Guinea in a game in which they led until the 85th minute before they then edged past hosts Fiji by a goal to nil in their most recent outing the other day.
Vanuatu have had to leave things late while the Solomon Islands have shown a more varied level of quality so siding with the Solomon Islands would appear a decent bet for this one.
