Strasbourg preview: Strong Strasbourg

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O'Neil has his Strasbourg side in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League and they are also in the hunt for a top seven finish in Ligue 1, once again.

The hosts went into the international break on the back of an entertaining 3-2 defeat of Nantes to extend their unbeaten run of form to nine matches across all competitions.

Nice preview: Struggling Nice

They now face a Nice side that begin the weekend sitting just five points ahead of third-from-bottom Auxerre, who sit in the end of season Ligue 1/Ligue 2 promotion/relegation playoff place.

The southerners have been neglected by ownership group INEOS and they went into the international break in woeful form following the appointment of former Leicester City and Southampton boss Claude Puel.

Strasbourg team news: A few doubts

Strasbourg are dealing with a few injury issues for this one as Diego Moreira is sidelined alongside Joaquin Panichelli, who is the club's top scorer this season and so David Datro Fofana is expected to start up-front once again.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Penders; Doue, Omobamidele, Doukoure, Hogsberg; Oyedele, Barco; Nanasi, Amo-Ameyaw, Godo; Fofana

Unavailable: Diego Moreira (Injured), Panichelli (Injured)

Questionable: Anselmino (Injured), Ouattara (Injured), Emegha (Injured)

Nice team news: Ndayishimiye suspended

Nice defensive midfielder Youssouf Ndayishimiye is missing through suspension for this weekend, while there are also fresh injury doubts over Kojo Peprah Oppong.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Diouf; Mendy, Dante, Juma Bah; Clauss, Sanson, Boudaoui, Louchet, Bard; Wahi, Diop

Unavailable: Moise Bombito (Injured), Everton (Injured), Ndayishimiye (Suspended)

Questionable: Abdelmonem (Injured), Peprah Oppong (Injured), Jansson (Injured)

Strasbourg vs Nice prediction

Nice are a poor team. Puel is not a bad manager but he is not dealing with much due to the poor running of the club. Strasbourg, especially with their home advantage and their reasonably impressive form in the last couple of months, should be sided with here as they try to close the gap on the European spots in France's top-flight once again.

Strasbourg vs Nice tip: Strasbourg to win
