Borussia Dortmund preview: Dropping points
Having been flawless for the first four games of the season, picking up 12 points from 12 in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund have recently hit a stumbling block. After throwing away a two-goal lead late at home to Werder Bremen, they were most recently held to a goalless draw away at Union Berlin.
Those two results have allowed Bayern Munich to leapfrog them into top spot. Dortmund returns to domestic action on the back of a much-needed 1-2 victory in the Champions League this past Tuesday night, and now host Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park.
Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Much-needed win
While it’s been a desperately disappointing campaign so far for Eintracht Frankfurt, a battling 1-0 victory at home to FC Cologne last time out may just prove to be a turning point for Adi Hutter’s side. Key to why they’ve struggled so much in the Bundesliga has been their inability to keep the ball out of their own net.
Across six league matches, Frankfurt have shipped 16 goals, with only the bottom two conceding more. This does not bode well for them against a club like Dortmund with the attacking weapons they possess, as star striker Serhou Guirassy looms menacingly.
Borussia Dortmund team news: More rotation
Borussia Dortmund head coach Niko Kovac may opt to rotate his side once again following their midweek win at Sabah, with the likes of Beier and Nwaneri potentially coming back into the starting line-up.
Predicted XI (3-4-3): Kobel; Anton, Schlotterbeck, Bensebaini; Ryerson, Bellingham, Nmecha, Svensson; Nwaneri, Guirassy, Beier
Unavailable: Can (Injured), Karetsas (Injured), Konstantelias (Injured), Lerma (Injured)

Eintracht Frankfurt team news: Pair remain out
Both Ngankam and Pimpong remain unavailable for Eintracht Frankfurt, who could well be without Oscar Hojlund as well due to a thigh issue.
Predicted XI (4-4-2): Atubolu; Collins, Koch, Brassier, Kosugi; Doan, Aseko, Onyedika, Chaibi; Burkardt, Ebnoutalib
Unavailable: Ngankam (Injured), Pimpong (Injured)
Questionable: Hojlund (Injured)

Open poll and resultsBorussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction
While it’s not been plain sailing for Niko Kovac, he has Borussia Dortmund in a good place. Following two poor performances in the league, you would expect them to step up a gear this time around, especially having lost their place at the top of the table.
They’ll need to be much better than what we saw against Union Berlin, especially when considering that Eintracht Frankfurt looked more convincing defensively vs FC Cologne. However, with home advantage in their favour, backing Dortmund to return to the winners’ column appears a worthwhile move.
