Olympique de Marseille are once again enduring a chaotically bizarre campaign as they now welcome likely relegation battlers Le Havre to Stade Velodrome on Sunday.

Marseille preview: Beaten in Austria

Olympique de Marseille were beaten in midweek as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Austrian Bundesliga outfit Sturm Graz in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League.

Due to financial restrictions, Marseille have been inconsistent again at the start of this season, albeit they appeared to have recovered from a four-match losing streak before the international break before back-to-back wins since then.

Le Havre preview: Expected strugglers

Still under the management of former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard, Le Havre appear to now be circling the drain in Ligue 1 after spending the last few years battling but surviving relegation in France’s top-flight.

They begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting rock-bottom as the only winless team with just two points collected in seven matches after they were beaten 3-1 by Auxerre at Stade Oceane last week.

Marseille team news: Small squad

Unable to bring in new signings this summer, Marseille have a small squad reliant on academy graduates and one of those, Alexi Koum, is a doubt for this one after missing the trip to Graz due to illness.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): De Lange; Weah, Egan-Riley, Kondogbia, Emerson; Kamissoko, Nnadi; Harit, Abdelli, Igor Paixao; Gouiri

Unavailable: Cornelius (Injured)

Questionable: Koum (Illness)

Le Havre team news: A few issues

First-choice goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi remains sidelined for Le Havre with former Sunderland man Timothee Pembele working himself back to full fitness alongside former Southampton loanee Elias Jelert.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Gallon; Ouziad, Mwanga, Touba, N’Diaye; Ndiaye, Ebonog, Richardson; Nakamura, Maja, Samatta

Unavailable: Mpasi (Injured), Zagadou (Injured), Mambimbi (Injured)

Questionable: Pembele (Fitness), Jelert (Injured)

Marseille vs Le Havre prediction

Le Havre are a bit of a mess at the moment. They have lacked quality for a while but have shown enough fight, led by Digard, to punch themselves clear of the bottom three and the danger zone. However, they now really do lack quality like never before and Marseille will be reeling from defeat in midweek and desperate to bounce back so siding with the hosts is the way to go for this one at the Velodrome.

Marseille vs Le Havre tip: Marseille to win
