MarQuel Mederos vs Mark Choinski prediction
This fight is a late addition to the UFC 316 card as MarQuel Mederos has recovered from the illness that ruled him out of UFC Vegas 107 last weekend against Bolaji Oki and he now takes on Mark Choinski at the Prudential Center.
Mederos (10-1) is on an eight-fight winning streak and has settled into life in the UFC well since getting his shot via Dana White’s Contender Series. He has won both of his bouts in the UFC by decision against Landon Quinones and Austin Hubbard and now looks to extend his streak to nine.
Standing in his way is Mark ‘The Shark’ Choinski (8-0) who makes his UFC debut and puts his 100% winning record on the line. He has come via Anthony Pettis FC and won his last fight just two weeks ago.
The level is clearly a step up for Choinski while Mederos has shown he can compete at this level so it will be interesting to see how the unbeaten newcomer fares.
Mederos had the illness to content with last week which is never ideal preparation but we make him clear favourite here. Choinski is capable and possesses good submission skills but Mederos should be a level above here and get the win.
Prediction: MarQuel Mederos to win
