Julianna Pena vs Kayla Harrison prediction

Julianna Pena (13-5) makes her first title defence after regaining the women’s bantamweight title against Raquel Pennington last time out. When she previously held the belt by beating Amanda Nunes at UFC 269, she lost the rematch in her first title defence so she will be keen to defend her title here.

Kayla Harrison (18-1) has been on a tear since the former Olympic gold medallist transitioned to Mixed Martial Arts. Her sole loss came at the hands of Larissa Pacheco via unanimous decision back in the PFL in November 2022 but otherwise she has been a class above all her opponents to date.

This is arguably the toughest fight of her career but she will be confident of raising the bar yet further as she attempts to win the belt.

This is something of a grudge match between Pena and Harrison with neither woman mincing their words ahead of this fight. That is often something that has helped Pena in the past with her motivation and may well help here in this one.

That said, Harrison is exceptional and it feels like it has been a matter of time until she gets a belt around her waist. We cannot see Pena having enough in any facets to slow her down and we fully expect a dominant victory with a new champion being announced.

Prediction: Kayla Harrison to win
